As promised, here is my recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies. It started with the Nestle Tollhouse one, then morphed to fit our preferences. I don't care for crunchy cookies and these are just the perfect texture. They also make good dunkers! I made these last week and they were quickly scarfed down. I think they just happened to be my best batch yet.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup white flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips (milk or semisweet)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 365 degrees
- Combine flours, baking soda, and salt in small bowl
- Cream butter and shortening in large mixing bowl to combine
- Add sugars and vanilla and beat until creamy
- Add eggs, beating one at time into mixture
- Slowly beat in flour mixture
- Stir in chocolate chips
- Drop by spoonful (I use a cookie scoop) onto parchment paper lined cookie sheets
- Bake for 9 minutes (or just until the edges are brown)
- Cool on wire racks and store in airtight containers
