Planning for 2011

It's that time of year again for us, and I thought I'd post a little reminder to all of you as well. We try to take a day or two every January and every July to update all of our financial plans, wills, medical directives, and other emergency preparation plans (like an End of Watch folder in my husband's case). I know this is a bunch of no-fun, adult, poopy paperwork. But, once you do it, it's done. You can lock it away in your safe and you don't have to worry about it for a long while. And it's much easier to update every 6 months as your life gets more complicated. You may even think you don't have enough assets or anything to plan for (especially if you are young), but you really do. Think of everything you have and everything you've done, and then think of how much someone else will have to sort out if something happens to you. So take the time this week to sit down - by yourself or with your spouse - and get things organized. OK, that's the end of today's PSA! Hope you are all enjoying 2011 so far!
